Now that the new HD re-release of 1995 Rise of the Triad is about to come out next month, I’ve started playing the game for the sake of playing the game for the first time in forever again. Extreme ROTT has always had a reputation of being radically harder than the base game. I mean heck – it’ right there in the name. The use of “Extreme” there isn’t just dumb marketing bullshit. They’re way harder.| A Cup of Joe
I said the eras would start dropping quickly, and I was right. I started McCoy’s era on 20 Apr, and on 31 of May, McCoy’s era ended. That we got three series at all out of the show in the late 80’s is something of a miracle itself. Only this time it took all of Doctor Who with it. The show ended on 6 Dec 1989 after starting on 23 Nov 1963. That’s 26 series and 700ish episodes (depending on how you count – I wrote about that elsewhere) before it ended here.| A Cup of Joe
Well, that was fast. It’s 19 Apr, and on 20 Mar I had just started the sixth Doctor’s run, and here we are at the end. Colin Baker, the shortest run (ignoring Paul McGann) of the classic series Doctors is over. It started with such promise for me, and ended.. well. poorly is a kind way to say it.| A Cup of Joe
Five years ago when Pink Floyd’s The Final Cut turned 35, I wrote an article about it. Now that it’s turning 40, I’m taking that piece and using it as the foundation for this article about it turning 40.| A Cup of Joe
Sun 19 Mar 2023 brings yet another milestone in my Doctor Who Marathon. I reached the end of Peter Davison’s era with Episode 4 of “The Caves of Androzani”. What a way to bow out. Androzani is epic, and a spectacular end to Davison’s era. But I’m not here to talk about Androzani, I have a separate post for that.| A Cup of Joe
I’ve been a TiVo customer since 2000. Been using their platform for the longest time. Back then when it was new it was billed as a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) vs a plain ol DVR (Digital video recorder).| A Cup of Joe
Well, on 9 Jan 2023, I reached another milestone in my Doctor Who Marathon. I completed the Fourth Doctor’s run with episode 4 of “Logopolis”. In some ways getting through all the Tom Baker episodes themselves felt like a marathon. There were just so many of them. Most of Tom’s era talks about what he had “most of”. Tom Baker / Fourth Doctor had the most of:| A Cup of Joe
