As I hook my way through the grapes, I've been watching video lessons at Cindi Gray's "Rug Hooking Journey". One of the chapters was this Little Flower pattern. Cindi designed this little project for those who wanted to do more than just a square as their first project. Originally, I skipped it - since I'm kinda of a "go big or go home" type of girl. Now though, it looked like a nice palette cleanser to the grapes. | ninamariesayre.blogspot.com

Okay, I'm not one to complain, but who ever thought putting 4 values of wool strips in one little thumb print size circle sounded like a fun, needs to take a long look at their definition of fun! I spent my rug hooking time this week doing gradated grapes. In 4 different gradations. In two different purples. Not only is it a lot of work trying to get your loops somewhat smooth in little circles but also it's a lot of, "so where is the light source for this grape? Is that dark enough...| ninamariesayre.blogspot.com

See how the focal point is not in the right place? This actually was set to be a diagonal composition. Instead the focal point was too high throwing off the rhythm. Also, that curve on the left needed some major help. Maybe for fabric it would work - and that's a major maybe - but for wool it definitely wasn't going to cut it. Wool, by its nature is just that much more beefy . | ninamariesayre.blogspot.com

I thought this was clever...apparently, I'm going to have to start writing my blogs on the weekends to post on Fridays because I'm just too worn to be witty after work!| Creations - Quilts, Art, Whatever by Nina-Marie Sayre

So now that JoAnn's is no longer, where does one shop? So glad you asked!! I've always liked technology... although for the record...my favorite saying is "Technology is the new Alchemy" | ninamariesayre.blogspot.com
I love your Off The Wall post. It depicts the feeling we all get when making quilts. However, I would love to see this one updated to change all of the she/her to quilter. I know several men quilters that this would also apply to.| ninamariesayre.blogspot.com
Sometimes I think we are connected by an invisible thread, Nina. It is uncanny how often we select the same topics to write about in our weekly posts. Seems you answered my question even before I posed it.| ninamariesayre.blogspot.com
The last 10 months my life has been consumed by a new job which while not earth shattering has been super fun. And my studio has sat empty. I work all day creatively problem solving my way through customer service. And my studio sits empty. I wake up in the morning, thinking of ways to be more productive at my desk. And my studio still sits empty.| ninamariesayre.blogspot.com
