With the working draft of this adventure set (more or less), I a new struggle presents itself: designing side-quests.| Scopique’s
Something I have never done before, but I hope it helps me keep things straight.| Scopique’s
Server has been set up, module has been installed, so now it's time to get cracking on content.| Scopique’s
Yes, Alien: Earth, but also World of Warcraft returns from cryo, a gripe about complex software without instructions, and Star Citizen's 4.3 patch arrives.| Scopique’s
Spoilers ahoy, but I had to talk about passing the torch from Strange New Worlds to The Original Series and how fans keep the spirit alive when we see a diminished Trek future.| Scopique’s
Not as much as I had originally planned to say, but I might start my re-collection with digital music, and transfer to cassette as needed.| Scopique’s
What role does music -- both old and especially new -- play in my life now that I'm 51?| Scopique’s
I have planted a flag by purchasing albums on cassettes. Now the fun begins again.| Scopique’s
Blaugust begins, Dune: Awakening takes a dirt-nap, Terminull Brigade as a diversion, and more Unbelievable Stories from Star Citizen this week.| Scopique’s
I guess this isn’t so much an official grab bag as it is a post with a common thread running through several different areas of interest. | Scopique's
I’ve given up posting during the week; my lot now lies with these weekly summaries, and only when I remember to do them or feel that I have enough to talk about to make writing it all down worth while. | Scopique's
As was the case for many folks across the North Western hemisphere last week we got slammed with some alarming temperatures. Normally my basement office stays cool but things were so bad last week that I had to get a fan up and running. This week doesn’t seem to be moving completely away from the scorching temps, but at least we’ll be in the mid 80’s at it’s worst. If you’re affected by these face-melting temps, stay safe, stay cool however you can, and stay hydrated. | Scopique's
Dune: Awakening is a struggle, but I’m feeling that it’s the right kind of struggle for me. | Scopique's
I’m 51 years old and grew up in the era where video games were tough as hell because they didn’t know how to be anything but and as a result I consider where I am right now to be the gaming future I deserve. If a game has a “story mode”, I’m on it. If I have to fight a boss battle more than two times, I’m uninstalling. Taunts from the cheap seats about my skill roll off my back like the tears of those who levy such insults, because I feel I’ve earned my relaxation. | Scopique's

I’m now further on the private server than I was on the public server in terms of progression, but my private server character is still a good 8-10 levels below the max level I reached on the public server. I’m not sure if this is causing me issues, but I’m finding that the difficulty curve in Dune: Awakening is pretty significant. | Scopique's

I’m thinking the “grab bag” format is going to be my hallmark for the foreseeable future because I don’t seem to have a lot of things going on that inspire me to write, but I still want to write something. I’m also finding that I’m posting these in the middle of the weeks that they are intended to represent. Exciting stuff still might happen this week! But I highly doubt it.| Scopique's

This is not a topic I foresaw myself writing about, but since I got the idea to (follow with me) play the Nightingale update, record it, edit it, post it, and maybe keep going with that pattern, I kind of enjoyed the process of reviewing the footage, cutting out slow and janky parts, and putting together something that is hopefully better to passively watch after the fact. | Scopique's
