I wrote a pretty substantial post this morning reflecting on August and talking about my goals for September and such, but Bear Blog unfortunately ate it, and I don't think I have it in me to try to write it in-depth again. So this will be kind of a short one.| Syl's Blog
This is how I used to discover music when I was a teen: I would listen to the radio and hear a song I'd never heard before and that I really dug. I'd wait for the DJ to tell me the song title and artist, or I'd go on the station's website to see what their current rotation was and try to determine it from there. Then I'd download the song and a few more from the artist on Limewire, and if I liked enough of their music, I'd go to a shop and buy their CD.| Syl's Blog
I read nine books this month, more than I've read in a month in quite some time. Most of them are horror or thriller because that's the genre I enjoy the most, but there's a bit of fantasy and historical fiction in the mix. Here are the books I read in August, with my thoughts on them, ranked in order from most loved to least loved.| Syl's Blog
Today's journal prompts come from Sophie Cliff again. I wasn't sure what to write about, so I thought I'd choose some more prompts to do. These are all focused around positivity.| Syl's Blog
Here are some more small games I've enjoyed lately! All of these games are free to play and you can play them right in your browser, but please consider supporting indie devs if you particularly enjoy their games.| Syl's Blog
Phew, we still have a few days left of Blaugust, and I'm going to admit, I'm struggling a bit. It's hard to come up with something to post about every single day, and I've missed a few days as well. I do have plans for a couple of end-of-the-month posts, so I'm looking forward to those. I'm planning on posting about the books I've read this month and some more small games I've played.| Syl's Blog
I've mentioned before that Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is one of my favorite ways to help with productivity. Well, today it got an expansion pack called Spirit City: All Aboard! It comes with a new train location that you can fully customize and decorate, along with new spirits to unlock. I have a deep love for trains, so this DLC is right up my alley. I've already decorated my train in autumnal goth vibes.| Syl's Blog
When I was a kid, one of my favorite computer games was technically not a game at all. It was the 1995 edition of Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia.| Syl's Blog
Back in 2020, I bought the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality on itch.io, and I'm still trying to make my way through some of the games. With over 1,000 in total, there's more than I'll ever be able to play in my lifetime, but I'm glad I have so many to choose from!| Syl's Blog
The internet might be a shell of what it once was, but there are still a lot of cool people on it doing cool things. Here are a few of my favorites.| Syl's Blog
