Keeping CWD at bay in Georgia will take diligent efforts from our wildlife professionals and the hunting public. The Georgia DNR has scheduled public information sessions this week to help us all understand how we can help, and what is being done in Georgia. We hope you will attend one of these sessions and encourage DNR to be very aggressive in combatting CWD in Georgia and follow successes from other states which includes banning baiting and feeding in disease management zones.| Georgia Wildlife Federation
The Georgia Wildlife Federation’s Hunters for the Hungry Program Coordinator oversees the Hunters for the Hungry program, campaigns, and activities related to fundraising and awareness for the program. Learning the “way of the woods” through this program introduced me to a new passion and joy—connecting with nature through hunting. Being a participant was an incredible experience that taught me so much. The skills I gained made me want to turn around and teach all of my friends who, like me, didn’t grow up hunting.
