I had this cheap pleather ottoman in my living room and you can see how my kids destroyed it. It is where I kept all the throws and cozy...| cook-create-consume.blogspot.com
I'm a little late to the swimsuit hunt this year. I like to put a swimsuit in my kids Easter basket, but I didn't do a swimsuit inventory of what they need in time. Most of the ones I have found that I want to order, their sizes are sold out. Wah! | Cook! Create! Consume!
Mallary kept wanting to make hot chocolate bombs, and I finally ordered molds after Christmas. They came pretty fast and we made some the next day. I forgot I hadn't posted that video of her making them... I'll get on that... | Cook! Create! Consume!
Recently, my friend's son turned 18 and he sent her a recipe he wanted for his cake, and she forwarded it to me and put me in charge of the cake. It was a molten lava cake recipe. | Cook! Create! Consume!
Growing up, my family played games like Rook or Guesstures, but John's family REALLY plays games. Like, stay up all night playing games kinda people. | Cook! Create! Consume!
The Super bowl and marrying my husband were kind of like a package deal. For most of my marriage, we've had some kind of Super bowl party, so when I went to look up recipes to make for this weekend I was surprised not to find a post here about the Super bowl. So, I compiled a list of some recipes already posted on my blog that would be good food for the Super bowl, and that I've probably made at a Super bowl at least once or twice. | Cook! Create! Honestly, today as I put out these Valentine envelopes I made 11(!) years ago, I really wasn't feeling the love... | Cook! Create! Consume!
About two years ago, I started going with my friend to get manicures or pedicures. I got addicted to gel nails or SNS nails. My nails are super brittle and will only grow if I have gel or SNS on them. But, I'm super lazy and didn't always remove them safely therefore defeating the purpose of helping my nails grow and be healthy. | Cook! Create! Consume!
For Thursday's home economics class, we made bread! This is my dad's recipe. My dad made bread a lot! He always made the rolls for any holiday. I'm pretty sure he took his mother's recipe and added the wheat, molasses, honey, and flax seed. Don't worry, he'll correct me if I'm wrong. My mom always liked to make food healthier, so I'm sure she was behind adding all of those things, and subbing the honey and molasses for regular sugar. | Cook! Create! Consume!
Monday started my kids being home from school because of the Corona Virus social distancing. I let them have electronics or basically whatever they wanted that day. That got old real fast, and I decided I had to get my butt in gear to keep my kids off the couch, off the phone, Xbox, and TV. Yesterday, among other things, we did Home Ec. I had some granola that my sister made me from a little while ago, and thought it would be easy to show them how to make their own granola bars (and to fi...| Cook! Create! Consume!
My family fell in love with this recipe this summer when my sister in law made these at our family reunion. This is a healthier (and in my opinion, more delicious) option to regular ground beef tacos. You guys, seriously... I make this at least three or four times a month, it's one of our favorites! They get devoured every time. The recipe is from Skinny Taste. I revised it a bit simply because I'm lazy and don't feel like cutting green peppers and onions. I've actually never added gree...| Cook! Create! Consume!
You might ask, "Why is there an underwear ornament on your Christmas tree?" Or, one day, my kids might ask that question, or my grand kids might ask their dad why there is an underwear ornament hanging on their tree. (I'll tell you why at the end of this post...)| Cook! Create! Consume!
My mom made these cookies when I was growing up. This summer, I had a random craving for them and pulled out the recipe I wrote down as teenager. This is how dated the recipe is - it called for margarine. (I just sub all old recipes that called for margarine with butter.) This is a super yummy and super easy recipe. | Cook! Create! Consume!

Full disclosure - We were late to church on Sunday, Bailee didn't even get her hair brushed. So, I made everyone stay in their church clothes after church until I did my hair and makeup, Bailee and Mallary's hair THEN took a picture.| Cook! Create! Consume!

These are awesome sugar cookies! They are great frosted with a buttercream frosting, cream cheese frosting, a plain vanilla frosting from a store bought jar, or with a glace. I also use this recipe for fruit pizza with a cream cheese frosting, topped with fruit. I've also used it to make a cookie cake (shown below the recipe). The dough is the perfect consistency. The cookies are fluffy and not dry. These cookies are always a hit!| Cook! Create! Consume!
This is a super yummy holiday side dish! This crowd pleaser is a bit more gourmet than a regular potato cheese dish, and adds a festive flair to your holiday feast. | Cook! Create! Consume!
Years ago, I discovered turkey bags to cook turkeys in and now it's the only way I cook my turkey. | Cook! Create! Consume!
A while ago we decided to find another opportunity to wear our ugly Christmas sweaters (Haha!!) and we created the Hamilton Reindeer Games. I wanted a way to get together with our friends but have them create some memories with their families at the same time. Everyone is always busy on the weekends, so I decided to make it a Monday night Family Home Evening activity.| Cook! Create! Consume!

My sister and I went thrift shopping at New Years and she found this dress and said I should buy it for Mallary's baptism. It was only $2. I almost didn't buy it because I don't really like fancy fru fru dresses, but I thought I could use it for something else if I decided not to use it for Mallary. | Cook! Create! Consume!
Even though I lost my running buddy when she got pregnant, I was more than excited for her and happy to give her a baby shower! Instead of her having multiple showers she decided to have one large one so I had lots of help in getting this shower together, and really that is the best way to go because doing a shower by yourself can get very expensive!| Cook!
