Gnomes are an artificial race created by Dark Lady Ta-tiki-tekh-uata, the Witch Mother, to serve as her attendants, spies and enforcers. Some sources suggest that she tried to replicate the long-lost Sidhe biomantic recipe for turning humans into elves, others claim that she did so successfully, but used her plentiful goblin slaves as the base stock instead of her much more sparse human subjects - in any case, gnomes were the result.| The Library of Attnam
They call themselves Tu'er Ye, but are better known as Harelings, Harengon, Rabbitfolk, Tabbits or Al-mi'raj. They are few and rarely encountered. Their burrows are hidden in the deepest forests and never allow outsiders in. They love to gather knowledge and devote themselves to the search for truth - perhaps because they have lost their own truth.| The Library of Attnam
Mere six years after I've started with the list of wizard schools, I have finally put together magic rules and a wizard chassis that I am rather content with. Enjoy!| The Library of Attnam

My players are currently exploring a shadowy alien dimension. As they have no knowledge of the creatures they encounter, I have prompted them to name their enemies. Here are the results so far:| The Library of Attnam
This wizarding tradition is based on SLA Industries, but tweaked and reflavoured to better fit the magic punk of the Wizard City.| The Library of Attnam
Wizardry is powerful and versatile, but fickle. Energy throwing is simple but reliable.| The Library of Attnam
In my D&D 5egame, I have replaced massive damage with lingering injuries, but I have never posted the rules. There were a few design considerations when devising this dismemberment table:| The Library of Attnam
Depending on the setting, this could be an ogre, an ape, or an ogre ape. (Or a half-giant, or a goliath, even a really brawny barbarian. Any big guy/gal, really.) It has a touch of James Young's barbarian, SaltyGoo's ogre and Skerples' brawler.| The Library of Attnam
No wizard is to be trifled with lightly, but when several wizards join forces, they become the stuff of nightmares. Especially if they literally join forces via the ritual of communion.| The Library of Attnam

You know how in anime the combatants are getting faster and faster as they grow in power, dodging bullets and throwing a thousand punches per second? This is something I've been playing around with, rules-wise. The rule is very simple:| The Library of Attnam
There are three Great Books, artifacts of prodigious power that are hidden and protected in three corners of the world. Each one is capable of changing the world.| The Library of Attnam
The Manse has recently published a very nice rant on categorisation of magic where they discuss several approaches to the classification of spells and derive their own schools of magic, a neat and clean system of seven traditions with a rigorous naming convention. But there's a fallacy in this approach, I venture. It's tempting to create a well-defined, all-encompassing set of categories and just use them for everything. I will freely admit to doing just that many a time. But real-world syste...| The Library of Attnam
If you prefer fantasy wilderness to post-apocalyptic wasteland, here are some starting tables for you.| The Library of Attnam
Warlocks in Encounter Critical can cast one spell per day per level. This is not the only magic they wield and it is a rather limited amount even on higher levels. That seem to point towards spells being the specialist tools and big guns, something that changes the situation rather than yet another magic blast - that's what the Magical Attack skill is for, after all. The booklet presents a few spells, but here is my expansion and reinterpretation of them into a set of game-changers.| The Library of Attnam
This is the reaction table I'm currently using. It works reasonably well. The results should be interpreted liberally.| The Library of Attnam
In another installation of ramblings about unplaytested magic systems cribbed from books I read so long ago I only half-remember a few bits, what if spells were a long-term, strategic resource?| The Library of Attnam
I've been to many castles, but during these Christmas holidays, I visited one that really stands out. It would fit right amongst the exaggerated fortresses of many fantasy worlds.| The Library of Attnam
One common way of dealing with the endless classes of GLOG is to have only a limited few available in each campaign, and then maybe add more as players go through characters and find new things. I like this, but I want to make the process of unlocking new classes as player-facing as possible.| The Library of Attnam
