I was recently called to be the Primary Chorister in my ward*. I was super sad to leave Young Women, because I truly had such love in my heart for those good kids! But I love those cute little Primary guys too -- even the naughty boys in back who think they're too cool to sing. They're not too cool when I threaten them with solos! (hee hee hee -- I might be just a little bit ornery about that.)| Natalie Ever After
This week it’s my turn to talk to you all about my layout and setting squares for my #BFTPqal quilt – I can’t believe we’re already at this point! Remember when I told you all I was doing a different layout than in the book? Well, just like always, my plans changed a couple of times since then, and I decided instead to use the blocks I’d made to make a really great baby quilt/wall hanging – which I may or may not give away, it’s so cute!| Natalie Ever After

I didn't plan to make a cross stitch chart for General Conference this Spring, but I just couldn't get this idea out of my head! It's just perfect to work on while you listen to General Conference, to finish up before April 17th when it's Easter. | Natalie Ever After
At October General Conference, I always like to do a little project -- and this year is no different! One thing I like to do is make up a little pattern for the new Youth Theme. There are several on this blog -- you can download any and all!| Natalie Ever After
Well, everyone is getting ready for General Conference -- and for a lot of us, that means getting a little project ready!| Natalie Ever After
When I came up with my Love at Home quilt (see THIS post!), I actually came up with the cross stitch chart first! Since I like the orientation of my quilts to be vertical, I knew I didn't want to do it this way; but I absolutely LOVE orienting my cross stitch patterns horizontally, and I knew it would be such a pretty and fun project for General Conference!| Natalie Ever After
At the beginning of the year -- before the End of Life As We Know It, aka Coronavirus Quarantine -- our quilt group (Nebo Modern Quilters) challenged us to make a project with a house block that we designed ourselves. As a pattern designer, this challenge was RIGHT up my alley -- but I've already made a couple, so I wasn't super interested right at first.| Natalie Ever After
Okay, this one is going to be EPIC! It's basically the run-down of the demo I did today for the Payson Quilt Show. I will attach my supplies list in THIS POST, but they are also scattered throughout the presentation.| Natalie Ever After

Hey everyone! I'm teaching a little demo at the Payson Quilt Show this Saturday at 10:00. It's all about Hand Quilting -- good, old-fashioned hand quilting and binding, and modern big-stitch quilting and binding. I am equal parts nervous and excited -- I hope I tip it over more on the excited side soon! | Natalie Ever After
Wow, I haven't done one of these in a LONG time! But I've been working hard on some more cross stitch charts, and I think you'll really like them. Since I haven't done any blogging for a while, I have the 2019 and 2020 charts below. Each chart is JUST a chart -- I have not assigned specific DMC colors, because I think that really depends on what color of cloth you're using (aida and linen come in many colors!). Please feel free to change up the colors however you want -- that's half the fun!| Natalie Ever After
Hey everyone -- long time no blog! I'm pretty excited about the coming year, and I've got a REALLY great plan in place to be successful at this blogging business (which isn't a business at all for me -- I'm not monetized!).| Natalie Ever After
Well, that was an unexpected hiatus -- and after such a consistent couple of weeks! But I've been a little swamped lately with all the little things in life -- Christmas, and reorganizing my house, and catching up on two-years'-worth of laundry -- that all turn into big things, without any warning at all. I've felt like my life has been under construction lately -- and that's turning out to be a really good thing. | Natalie Ever After
My kids are like everyone else -- some love school and can't wait to go back, others kind of dread it, but the first day of school is always a lot of fun. It's so great to see people you haven't seen all summer, and the promise of a fresh start is always so great -- that's one of my favorite things about a new anything!| Natalie Ever After
Hurray, hurray -- the Olympics are here!! I have a new friend (Jen from Heritage Threads) who just wrote up a blog post -- and it explains EXACTLY how I've always felt about the Olympics! You should totally check it out, it's so stinking cute, and so is her mini Olympic rings quilt!| Natalie Ever After
My husband is a twin, and he loves being one! Joel and Kevin are best friends and I wouldn't change that for the world. So OF COURSE when it was their 40th Birthday, I wanted to do something extra special for him -- and I thought a Day Off would be perfect. | Natalie Ever After
Hey everyone! I'm just popping in to say... this blog is not dead. But time has been racing past and I've got five kids home for the summer (and some other major commitments on top of that), so I've been sadly neglecting this blog. I'm hoping to really buckle down and get things together in the next little bit -- I've got so many fun, fun things to show you! Not the least of which is my Olympics quilt... I'll have a tutorial for that up next week-ish sometime (please note: not committing to...| Natalie Ever After
A friend of mine was about to have a little baby boy (her first!) and I had the VERY last-minute idea to do a collaborative quilt for her. I used a pattern from a friend (which I think originally comes from rachelwoodenspoon -- look at the bottom of the tutorial page to find the exact dimensions we used), which we used for a different baby quilt (I did two blocks -- the one in the bottom center (!!!) and the first one on the next row).| Natalie Ever After
I just love Bonnie & Camille fabric by Moda! Those ladies are some that I truly look up to -- I just love their style and hope to be able to publish patterns myself soon! (I'm in the process of starting a little company, updates will come soon!)| Natalie Ever After
About a year ago, I got a cheap little seasonal project to do at night while I watch TV with Joel. I got the XS pattern by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery (check out their version -- it's super different colors!), but I just used whatever I had on hand, and didn't document what I used. When I finished it I knew I wanted to put it in this 8x8 frame, but Valentine's Day was over, so I wasn't really motivated to finish it up right then. I knew I'd remember and pull it out during the next Valent...| Natalie Ever After
I have two baby showers -- for three babies -- this week, and thought I'd try something new and crafty. It might just be my FAVORITE new go-to gift for baby showers! | Natalie Ever After
I love the creative process so much. I really believe that creativity is a God-like and God-given trait. I think it all started when I was just a little girl, reading stories with my mother. Those stories were the most creative thing -- they told of graceful and virtuous princesses and valiant and brave princes and they inspired me to be a writer someday. I wanted to create something just as wonderful for some other person as those stories were to me.| Natalie Ever After
Oh, who doesn't just love Halloween? I've decided I like it a little bit creepy, a little bit spooky -- but not truly scary or gory. One of my favorite ever Halloween shows was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where they accidentally raise a fear demon -- it's such a scary episode, with a huge surprise at the end! Let me just say, Giles is the best -- and if you've seen it, you know what I mean!| Natalie Ever After
Hey everyone!| Natalie Ever After
I finished my Blocks from the Past quilt top! I'm pretty proud of myself -- I really wanted to do a big, fat sampler quilt (a la Camille Roskelley's Farmer's Wife quilt), but I've come to peace with a "time and a season" mentality, and it's just not the time or season for this project. I'm so glad I've done as much as I have, though, because someday it will be my time & season, and when it comes I'll remember all my mistakes! :)| Natalie Ever After
