Hi everyone. This month we are working with the Floating Frames technique. It is a technique where you stamp, colour, and die-cut several images and then arranged them over a card front, tacking them down temporarily. Then you can die-cut a shape from the center (round, oval, square, etc.). You now have two pieces to make into cards, 1) the shape you die-cut and; 2) the frame created.| Group of Seven Cardmakers

Hi everyone. Today we are showing a technique that I first saw on a friend's blog. Jenny stamped a large line image and heat embossed in gold (any embossing powder colour will work). She then watercoloured the image LOOSELY, not staying within the lines, and making sure the background was watercoloured as well. Once dry, the image was cut up into strips, lined back up in a random order and adhered together. LOVE the artsy look of the finished card!| Group of Seven Cardmakers
Hi everyone. This month we are showcasing the Monochromatic Design Element. Keeping a card design in different shades of one colour makes very striking cards.| Group of Seven Cardmakers
Hi everyone. Today we are showcasing an older technique which is a photographic technique adapted for card making. Hi everyone. This month we are revisiting an older technique that is lots of fun and makes the most beautiful, vibrant backgrounds. This time, the group is trying this technique with a variety of mediums. Any type of ink (Distress reinkers; Doxide reinkers; Dye reinkers; powered inks, spray inks, stains, watercolour paint, acrylic paint, alcohol inks, etc.) may be used to add colour to a water-friendly substrate (mixed media paper, watercolour paper, bristol, coated card stock, yupo - f...| Group of Seven Cardmakers

Hi everyone. Welcome to another technique at Group of Seven Cardmakers. This month we are playing with a technique introduced to us by Christine during a Zoom call earlier this month. This technique creates amazing results with a few different techniques combined into one card. It all starts with watercolouring a background using re-inkers to create a very saturated, vibrant background. Once that is dry, an embossing folder is used to add dimension to the colourful card at the sam...| Group of Seven Cardmakers
Hi everyone. This month, the Group of Seven Cardmakers is sharing a second way to do Ink Blending. This time we are working with DOX Inks. Kristina Werner has several videos on colour combinations of DOX inks (links to videos are below). Once the inks were blended, the group dried their card panels with a heat tool and then pounced with anti-static powder before heat embossing a line image. Any colour of embossing powder will look great. This combination of techniques creates a beau...| Group of Seven Cardmakers
