My brother in law died in June. Heart attack. Four hours in the hospital and gone. And then the bills came. He’d let his insurance lapse two months prior. Bills were a few thousand here for the cardiologist, another few there for the ER docs, a bit for the radiologist. I helped my sister-in-law negotiate these down but they weren’t back breakers. Then the hospital bill came: $195k. This is a story about that.| Threads

That’s weird, Apple’s new full screen F1 ad in the TV app links out to the browser to compete the transaction, but for some reason doesn’t include any full screen interstitials warning of the big scary web, nor a confirmation dialog that it would open in the browser? Must be an oversight.| Threads

Jessica Lee Gagné is an absolute mastermind. Jessica is the show's cinematographer but Episode 7 of Severance was her *literal* directorial debut. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! The shot below was not CGI. Let me repeat: the shot below *was not* CGI. Gagné said they shot through cables, calling it the most laborious thing she's ever done as a DP. This show would be nothing without her as the cinematographer. Brilliant. Spectacular. Breathtaking. Lights out. 😮💨| Threads
