"On my journey home, I dreamt of swimming with whales. I realized that I’d had this same dream many times before. Then I knew why everything had seemed so familiar. We weren’t strangers to the sea; it had been our home, too. And deep down, we remember." | August and After
I walked past a gallery while in Paia, Maui the other week, and saw some work by the Cesere Brothers. Most of them are vivid with an fun, vibrant feel, but THIS one. Gah! This is what I dream of shooting. Someday when I can invest into pieces of art for my walls, this one's going up.| August and After

That last picture has everything I want. Rain on the water, a dock, a body of water out your window. Or in this case, outside your wall of glass. Via Inthralld. Alternatively, you could go to Berlin rent it.| August and After

I just found out that The Album Leaf is launching a new EP in 3 weeks, which is making me ridiculously happy. They've been creating some of my favorite music for years (this song in particular), and I can't wait to have the new album in my ears. You can snag a free downloadable sneak peek here, or listen to it below.| August and After

I've been blogging more often over at my photography blog, so that's where you can find me these days. I just picked up some polaroid film and shot these this morning with TBR, and I'm totally hooked. Film it is. Hope you all are doing great. xo| August and After

I'd live in this, no doubt about it. Just get me back on the water now please! You can join me in daydreaming over more images here. I'll most likely be sitting in my desert home doing that all day today.| August and After
Getting inspiration from here, again. Trying on trying a little hard this year with everything. Changes coming soon.| August and After
Genius. Check them all out here.| August and After
One from their new album, one from their old. I've been out of commission for awhile, and today these songs are helping my sanity. You can check out their official website here.| August and After
This makes me want to run away to Joshua Tree to feel some warmth in my bones. This winter is getting long. I pretty sure the happy light I bought was a rip off and I've been editing so many long days in front of my computer I feel like my brain is literally fried. Once we get my car fixed I think I'm going to treat myself to a day spent somewhere other than in my house. A girls trip to Joshua Tree may be just the right ticket to cure the winter blues.| August and After

"North Carolina based Bowerbirds had a lot of life experience to pour into their forthcoming album The Clearing, and a lot of it wasn’t pretty. Band members Phil Moore (vocals, guitar) and Beth Tacular (accordion, vocals) suffered a rift in their romantic relationship, which subsequently resulted in a yearlong dissolution of the band. During that time, they experienced the trials of illness and loneliness before finally reuniting both personally and creatively.| August and After
