Andrew/PIZZA PRANKS of Indiepocalypse is announcing their first ever Patron Drive! Indiepocalypse is a zine/game anthology you probably never heard of. Every month, Andrew would package ten indie games along with a zine so you can play the weirdest, varied, most unmarketable games in this corner of the internet. They're loud. They're personal. They're vague. They make you think you can also try your hands on this "game" thing. Can't say it better than the official intro. Best of all? It has b...| Mirrored W❄️rld
When I was a child, I used to run my hands on rocky walls and running water fountains. In class, I would smell wooden pencils and toy with the heft of a pen. I stabbed my arms with mechanical pencil leads. The good ones would stand on your skin and it was good for "special effects" if you ever had to pretend you were pierced by an arrow. I drove my teachers crazy by stacking the contents of my pencil case if left idle, even in the middle of an exam.| Mirrored W❄️rld
Spiderman prerelease is looming and I can safely say this is the bleakest week-before-prerelease in the entire 8 years of me playing Magic. Stores are having difficulty selling prerelease with the price so high, insipid cards, and incoherent draft environment. Some LGS literally have zero buyer that they have to cancel the prerelease event and scramble to host something else. Chatting to owners is depressing. They're hoping just to sell enough to cover the upfront cost and stay within WPN goo...| Mirrored W❄️rld

It has been an incredibly difficult week in more ways than one. The news of a respected professor's passing should not come as a surprise given how old she was, but she had been larger than life for the entirety of the country's tech education history. A venerable icon, a living history, a person I could only hesitantly call a mentor because I was never directly mentored (to be recognized would be my greatest honor). The Informatics program never existed without her — until now. More than f...| Mirrored W❄️rld

I have a lot of hangups about drawing and painting in general it would take me so many years to unpack, but recently I've gotten to a point I don't totally hate what I make. Along the way, I have weird moments of epiphany — things I should have known but never internalized. Feel free to laugh at my folly. Do keep in mind that, in line of my Manifesto, this post pertains to the act of casual creation (which I defined as something you do for yourself, as a hobby). If you're looking to make ar...| Mirrored W❄️rld
A couple weeks ago, I talked about picking up trad arts again with cheap store brand supplies. With the last pieces I made, I finally feel like I've come to a point where I genuinely like the results. It's a good feeling to have. I'm especially happy to discover how much I am enjoying acrylic paint markers and liquid chalks, two mediums I had never worked with before. I'm telling myself that I can get something nicer after I have used up everything I bought, and it's nice to compile a little ...| Mirrored W❄️rld
