Well it is the first week of October so the vegetable garden is just about done. I still have a few things growing outside, but not much. This first photo was taken in July, the garden was so overgrown it was ridiculous, and yes, I did allow the appropriate spacing between plants. There is a three foot wide brick path to walk between gardens, and the potatoes grew on top of the path so I could barely walk through. Beans and broccoli are on the far right and tomatoes are growing up the...| Amy's Creative Pursuits

I just returned home from a wonderful four day weekend celebrating our 38th Wedding Anniversary. We had the most amazing time in Door County, and I can't wait to tell you all about it...next week. 😀. For the past couple of weeks I have been sharing photos and stories of our families staycation to Osceola Wisconsin. In my first post, we played in Cascade Falls and then in my second post we took a scenic train ride. Today, I'm going to show some fun we had the next day in a nearby park called Interstate State Park.| Amy's Creative Pursuits

Well, with the exception of a lot of weeds, this year was one of my best flower garden years ever. We had a lot of heat and sun with plenty of rain, so the plants really thrived. And for some reason, the deer have had mercy on me and didn't destroy my garden. There has been a little deer damage here and there, but nothing like previous years. I don't know what happened, if some hunters got the deer that plagued my garden or the deer just moved on to greener pastures. I also noticed ...| Amy's Creative Pursuits
My daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren come up and visit us every year during the 4th of July of week. It is always an exhausting, but fun filled week. We always do one little staycation where we go somewhere nearby for the night. This year I picked the sweet little town of Osceola Wisconsin because of their train ride and waterfall. My husband and I went there for a winter weekend getaway a few years ago, and thought it would be the perfect place to come back with the grandkids b...| Amy's Creative Pursuits
I purchased some inexpensive wooden bird houses for the grandchildren to paint for their birthdays, and while they were painting theirs, I decided to paint one myself. However, my birdhouse wasn't a thin birdhouse you'd find at a craft store. Mine was made by my son when he was in high school and he painted it a solid black...it was his goth years, what can I say? 😂. If ever I wished I had taken a "before" photo, this was it. I remember being so upset with him that he painted his b...| Amy's Creative Pursuits
The weather this summer has been so different than last summer which brought new challenges and successes. Last year, it rained constantly. I had to replant a lot in the spring, because all the water just drowned everything. This year, we've had a decent amount of rain, plus HEAT. Plants that love the heat thrived and plants that struggle in heat did not do as well as they did last year. And that is the life of a gardener; one year you can have an abundance of cucumbers and the ne...| Amy's Creative Pursuits
