First of all, just some follow-up comments from my recent posts. Judging from the comments that came in about MKL, it makes me wonder if BRK is going to be a white knight (assuming it becomes necessary). Why would BRK expend capital on an underperformer? Does MKL need to be “saved”? | The Brooklyn Investor
The Magnificent Seven! OK, I don’t care what you guys say or think, but that’s a cool picture. I may have even used it before for a similar post. If so, sorry. Anyway, it’s my blog so I can do what I want. Anyway, this is just another one of those posts that popped into...| The Brooklyn Investor
So, I keep hearing that markets are broken, or that the market is as expensive as ever. I know I keep saying this and I am sounding like a broken record, but I am not so sure. Well, let’s take one thing at a time. Are the markets really broken? Someone said this implying that value investing doesn’t work anymore as passive indexing has taken over and nobody is valuing individual stocks anymore. This may be true to some extent. If this is true, it may become even more so over time. One of ...| The Brooklyn Investor
It’s been a long time! Sorry about that. Very often this year, I planned on posting more, but one thing after another keeps popping up. All good stuff, and it’s good that there is so much for me to do, but it does take me away from spending time writing here. As for markets and...| The Brooklyn Investor
Sometimes, the next Chipotle is, well, Chipotle. Or the next Microsoft is, Microsoft. I know we’ve spent a lot of time here looking at future BRKs, but sometimes, the next X is just X. This blog started in the fall of 2011, I think, so let’s just look at some of the Berkalikes and how...| The Brooklyn Investor

By the way, thanks for all the comments. One of the fun things about writing this blog is all the great comments I get, whether agreeing with me or not. Most comments are pretty well thought out, intelligent and very interesting. And I don’t mind at all when people disagree with me on anything. As I often say, Buffett and Munger, arguably the two smartest people on the planet often do not agree on things and they get along fine. Who am I to get upset with anyone that disagrees with me? | The Brooklyn Investor

OK, so you guys can laugh at me. Having said what I said in the other post (you would have to sacrifice a lot to find a 10x P/E stock in a 20 P/E world), here are some really good companies for 10x P/E. I didn’t write the last post to set this one up or anything like that. As you guys know, I have followed these companies for years and have a high level of comfort, familiarity with them. Of all the industries I talk about, I am probably most comfortable with financials, since that’s wher...| The Brooklyn Investor
