You know what time it is? It’s time for FOOTBALL….. FOOD! Haha! Unfortunately, sports really aren’t my thing, but I do love football season because of all the yummy recipes. Maddie and Lorelai aren’t really into football either, so I’m not sure why I designed this one a couple years ago. But here it is! Free to print off for all the football lovers out there. Grab some paints, stickers, and maybe even *glitter* and let your kid go ham on this printable. Who is your favorite sports t...| learncreatelove.com
Third Grade is here, ready or not! I finally have all of my ducks in a row and am going to share which curricula I’ve picked for Maddie this year. We have a BUSY semester ahead chock full of fun museum classes and extra-curriculars. | learncreatelove.com
Third grade is upon us! One of my favorite parts of planning for the school year ahead is picking out the books Maddie and I will read together. We’ve already read many classics and are looking forward to adding more to our list this school year. | learncreatelove.com
I’ve been working with Maddie on animal classification for a while now. It’s one of those concepts you hit on a little every year. Third grade has been no exception! I decided to make this printable mammal worksheet aimed towards elementary-aged kids to help Maddie remember mammal characteristics/facts/etc. There’s a place where they can write down their favorite mammals and draw a little picture. Maddie chose to draw a furry Maine coon. Cats are by far her favorite animal!| learncreatelove.com
How is it already time for back to school posts? This summer seemed to fly by for me and my girls, but despite that, we are all ready to get back into the swing of things. Having our days structured and planned out will help keep things in order and moving along. | learncreatelove.com
Okay, I’m going to be honest. We’ve been sitting on this craft for a looooong time. I’m not going to say exactly how long, but this was part of a series of crafts I’d mentioned in this post. I paid Lorelai to draw out some cute animals for me to turn into printables and this was one of them. | learncreatelove.com
Leatherback sea turtles are truly fascinating reptiles! They make up the world’s largest turtle species and can grow to around 2 meters, or 6 feet long! They also weigh-in around 2000lbs, or 900kg. Another fascinating fact is that their shells are not hard like most turtles; their speckled backs are a leathery texture that is soft and flexible.| learncreatelove.com
Hey friends! It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted here. Life’s been chaotic and fun; homeschooling, field trips, vacation, and running the kids around to their endless activities has taken up all of my free time. However, we are gearing up to start another school year and I’ve been making different printables to help keep things organized. This 100 Days of School tracker is one of them!| learncreatelove.com
Hey crafters! Sorry for disappearing again. Life has been a little chaotic and we’ve been (still) trying to adjust to this new pandemic lifestyle. Anyway, onto the craft… This is a printable scientist craft. Your kiddo can choose either gender for this craft – there is an optional ponytail. Or, of course, you could use the spare bits of cardstock to make your scientist their own unique hairstyle!| learncreatelove.com
Have you heard of the tree kangaroo? If not, you’re not alone! Lorelai is actually the one that told me all about this super cute marsupial. Tree kangaroos aren’t only found in Australia; they can also be found in the rainforests of Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.| learncreatelove.com
Year 3 of our homeschooling adventure started a few weeks ago. It’s the first year for me to (officially) teach both of my kids at the same time. While Lorelai (almost 13 now!) is mostly independent, there are still a few subjects I like to oversee. Madeline started her kindergarten curriculum and it’s been a blast. She is learning to read and it’s amazing to me to see her pick up on things so quickly. She loves books and when I read to her, so there’s definitely motivation for her to...| learncreatelove.com
Did you know that pilot whales can live in groups of thousands and like to eat squid? They also live around 50-60 years, though they are often hunted and killed for their meat before then. Pilot whales are distinctive looking because of their bulging foreheads and slender, pointed flippers. Lorelai enjoyed painting – cutting – assembling this pilot whale (and baby!) craft! Feel free to print below, and enjoy! Also check out our other whale crafts for more fun!| learncreatelove.com
Recycled crafts are by far my favorite to do with my kids. I love being able to use up old packaging or toilet rolls to make colorful and fun crafts with them. They’ve always enjoyed it also!| learncreatelove.com
Spring is here, which means Earth Day is coming up! We usually try to do a variety of crafts leading up to the holiday, and some that we have done in the past include this earth suncatcher, nature collage, earth day memory game, and more.| learncreatelove.com
This adorable bunny craft, complete with a flower crown & bouquet, was designed by Lorelai! As I mentioned in the chicks craft earlier, I commissioned some sketches of cute animals and she really came through for me! With Easter just around the corner, this sweet bunny will be perfect for your kid to decorate, cut, and assemble! Check out Lore’s sketch below! Also, if you are looking for more bunny crafts, click here.| learncreatelove.com
Tis the season for adorable baby chicks with floral crowns… or something like that. 😉 I commissioned some “cute baby animal” drawings from Lorelai and she didn’t dissapoint! She was so excited to design some crafts for our site. You’ll be seeing a bunch more crafts designed by her coming soon! Check out her original sketches that I referenced for these crafts below.| learncreatelove.com
Unicorns are a biiiig hit in our household. We have 2 daughters who love any and everything mythical – from dragons, to centaurs, and especially unicorns! Years ago, Lorelai crafted this unicorn, so it was about time we made another. This one is just the head, but be sure to check out the other craft if you want the whole body version. Enjoy!| learncreatelove.com
This is actually the second rhino craft we’ve done here on LCL. Lorelai painted this one years ago- it’s orange & cartoony! She chose to make this one more traditional colors, though she did add in a little pop of color. If you’re looking for some fun facts about rhinos to share with your kids, you can find some here. Grab the free template below and enjoy!| learncreatelove.com
This chonker here is called an elephant seal. Can you guess why? Yep, it’s the trunk-like nose that the male seals have! Lorelai was very amused by this printable and didn’t believe me that it was a real animal. So, I pulled up google and showed her a picture. She laughed quite a bit, then proceeded to make the craft. She added some bluish-green to give him some color. So cute! Grab the free printable template below. Enjoy!| learncreatelove.com
You have to admit, this is the most adorable salamander craft you’ve ever seen, isn’t it? Lorelai did such a great job on it! I love how she chose to do a rainbow gradient and black outline. It’s probably my favorite from her recent batch of crafts. Grab the printable below, and enjoy!| learncreatelove.com
