More than 300 people joined the California Institute for Community Arts and Culture and friends to view these remarkable objects and hear a panel of contemporary Native California artists. One strategy for protecting sacred land is in-depth reporting on sites around the world. Our 125 sacred site reports dive into the history, cultural significance and current status of what Hopi elder Thomas Banyacya called “the spots of the fawn.” Many sites are threatened, some have been protected (for now), and as Winnemem healer Florence Jones once said, “They hold our world together.”| Sacred Land
