Welcome to the 888th Tablescape Thursday! It’s been a busy week with the wallpaper installer arriving early each morning. He will be here again today, finishing up the prepping and painting of the guest bathroom walls. Then the waiting begins, as we’ll need to wait a full month to give the walls time to fully […]| Between Naps on the Porch
When I purchased the Dollhouse a little over a year ago, this is how the guest/half bath on the main floor looked. The red was striking and a fun look for a small guest bath, but not what I wanted for this space. Updating this bath has been a slow process, as I’ve been […]| Between Naps on the Porch
Welcome to the 870th Metamorphosis Monday! Before we get into today’s post, how about a little eye candy to start your week? Last week, I mentioned that I had once again stumbled across the sunroom where I first saw and fell in love with some pretty, scalloped-designed wicker furniture. I knew I had seen it […]| Between Naps on the Porch
I’ve been waiting for this! Every autumn, Talbots comes out with a beautiful line of fall clothing, and it’s usually in gorgeous traditional autumn colors and plaids that I find hard to resist. In today’s post, I’ve gathered together a few of my favorites, along with some other great finds that caught my eye. Talbots […]| Between Naps on the Porch
Welcome to the 887th Tablescape Thursday! Recently, I had someone ask about these pierced charger plates that you’ve often seen me use in table settings over the years. Of all the table-related items I’ve ever shared, I’ve received more questions about these charger plates over the years than about anything else I’ve used in […]| Between Naps on the Porch
Fall sneaked up on me this year. I just realized yesterday that the autumnal equinox officially arrived on Monday. With fall officially here, I’ve been thinking more and more about the upcoming holidays. In today’s post, I have a mix of seasonal and holiday favorites to share. I also solved a mystery concerning the scallop-designed […]| Between Naps on the Porch
Welcome to the 869th Metamorphosis Monday! First off, thanks so much for all your great input on Friday’s post, where I asked if you thought it would be a good idea for me to sell my home in Georgia and replace it with a home in the north Georgia mountains. (If you missed that post, […]| Between Naps on the Porch
Over the years, I’ve occasionally mentioned how much I would love to have a home in the North Georgia mountains. The Appalachian Mountains cover about 1/3 of the northern part of Georgia, an area known as the Blue Ridge Mountains. There’s a community in that area that I have visited several times, and I’ve often […]| Between Naps on the Porch

Welcome to the 868th Metamorphosis Monday! Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start. A few weeks ago, I shared an idea I had been mulling over for the master bedroom in the Ohio house, aka, the house I affectionately refer to as the Dollhouse, since it has so many cute […]| Between Naps on the Porch
Welcome to the 866th Metamorphosis Monday! I hope you are enjoying some rest this Labor Day weekend. We had a fun game day here and chowed down on City Barbecue at halftime. Georgia won 45 – 7, so that was a great game to kick off our very first game day in the movie/game room. For this week’s Met Monday, I’m sharing a new addition to my bedroom: a large dresser I put together a few weeks.| Between Naps on the Porch

Welcome to the 883rd Tablescape Thursday! Many, many years ago, I’m guessing 12-15 years ago, I came across Napoleon Bee flatware on the Neiman Marcus website. I had never seen this flatware before and was immediately smitten. That may have been around the time it was first in production, not sure. It happened to be on sale, but even on sale it was quite expensive. After it arrived, I was dismayed to find that several pieces were defective. I’ve thrown all those out now, so I don’t have...| Between Naps on the Porch
When I awoke this morning, it was 53° outside. I actually turned on the heat in my office for a few minutes to take the chill out of the air. Afterward, I pulled out one of my winter hoodies to wear. Just before turning in last night, I came across a video online where the weather guy was saying that the reason it feels like October in August in so many areas is due to an “upper-level trough coming from the Canadian Arctic, dragging polar air into the U.S.” He added that the Great Lakes ...| Between Naps on the Porch
Welcome to the 865th Metamorphosis Monday! How was your weekend? I hope it was awesome! It’s been so nice here during the day, the kind of weather that makes you want to get outside for a walk. I managed to get a walk in with family, but mostly I was inside all day Saturday and part of Sunday since I had a handyman here making 7 different repairs. Some of the repairs were small things like adding a small piece of trim in a spot where it was missing, or tightening down two of the wooden step...| Between Naps on the Porch
The weather has drastically changed here this past week. I’m sure we’ll have a few more warm days ahead, but the cooler temps the last few days and this morning mean autumn is on its way. I had a handyman here working today, and while he was hanging a door and making various repairs, I spent some time online checking out the Halloween and Fall decor. There are some super cute new things available this year! Here are some of my favorites.| Between Naps on the Porch
Welcome to the 881st Tablescape Thursday! There’s been a lot going on here at Dollhouse. You may remember the tree in my backyard that dropped a limb a while back. At that time, the tree company that removed the limb didn’t feel it necessary to remove the tree itself. Two weeks later, it dropped a much larger limb that landed in my neighbor’s yard. It didn’t land on anything, but after getting several estimates, it was recommended that it be removed. That whole area of the backyard ne...| Between Naps on the Porch
Have you been noticing all the fall, Halloween, and holiday decor that’s starting to appear in stores? I once asked about that when I was shopping in a Hobby Lobby, why they put holiday stuff out so early. They said that a lot of crafters start shopping during the summer months to be ready in time for the autumn and winter holidays. That made sense so now I don’t get so annoyed when I see those goods in the stores starting in mid-summer.| Between Naps on the Porch
