The EFI stub loader produces consistent boot errors when booting Trusty starting with version 3.13.0-101-generic. This bug can be reproduced in many ways (using efibootmgr, an EFI shell, rEFInd, etc.). One approach is: 1) Install an EFI shell on the computer and set it as the default boot option using efibootmgr. 2) Copy the kernel and initrd files from /boot to /boot/efi. 3) Rename the kernel file to use a .efi filename extension. 4) Reboot into the EFI shell. 5) Try to launch the kernel...| Launchpad
[ Impact ] For Ubuntu 25.10 release we plan to raise the required RISC-V ISA profile family to RVA23. The ubuntu-release-upgrader should stop upgrades beyond Ubuntu 24.04 on hardware that does not support the RVA23U64 profile. RVA23U64 [1] is the profile relevant for user space. As there is no upgrade path from Ubuntu 25.04 Plucky for RVA20 systems, we should also stop upgrading these RISC-V systems from Noble to Plucky. Probably a warning is adequate here. The Noble entry is only a place...| Launchpad
[Impact] Ubuntu provides the "lowlatency" kernel: a kernel optimized for applications that have special "low latency" requirements. Currently, this kernel does not include any specific UBUNTU SAUCE patches to improve the extra "low latency" requirements, but the only difference is a small subset of .config options. Almost all these options are now configurable either at boot-time or even at run-time, with the only exception of CONFIG_HZ (250 in the generic kernel vs 1000 in the lowlatency ...| Launchpad
NOTE: THIS IS AN ATTEMPT AT INCLUDING A BACKDOOR. THIS IS LEFT FOR HISTORICAL PURPOSES ONLY AND MUST NOT BE DONE. Please sync xz-utils 5.6.1-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main) Hello! I am one of the upstream maintainers for XZ Utils. Version 5.6.1 was recently released and uploaded to Debian as a bugfix only release. Notably, this fixes a bug that causes Valgrind to issue a warning on any application dynamically linked with liblzma. This includes a lot of important applications. This cou...| Launchpad
