In January 2023, the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) tested 17 of the most popular household floor cleaning products commonly available at retailers nationwide. NFSI found that when used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, 12 of the 17 products reduced the slip resistance of the floor after application leaving the floors more slippery than they were before cleaning (see data table below).| NFSI
