Since 1815, the Academy has elected members by class and section. At that time, the classes were simply Mathematical and Physical Sciences; Natural History; and Moral Sciences, Philology, and Fine Arts.| American Academy of Arts & Sciences
The Academy's first new members were elected in 1781 and today the Academy announced the members elected in 2025.
