I was at my cardiologist today for a routine check-up and did not see a single person masked. I saw three nurses/staff behind the desk and four patients in the waiting area. The other patients all appeared to be ages 60+. Neither of the people who saw me in the patient room were masked. Again, this was in a cardiologist’s office at the hospital.| gregorlove.com
Ten years doesn’t generally seem like that long until you look back and see how many things have changed. I’ve been reflecting quite a bit because it’s been ten years since my heart incident. I haven’t written about it in a while. I realized some people may not know much about what happened.| gregorlove.com

Time has been flying by, as it tends to. I intended to write this life update post back in June, but surprise, you’re getting it in August. (This seems to be a trend.)| gregorlove.com
Whoosh, there went July and August. And almost September. I did remember the 21st night of September, though.| gregorlove.com
I saw Jamie Tanna has been posting weekly notes. I like the idea so figured I would try it out. No guarantees about consistency; I’m not treating this like a NaBloPoMo challenge. :]| gregorlove.com
Ólafur Arnalds has a new album, a collaboration with Talos: A Dawning. It is as relaxing, moving, and lovely as always:| gRegorLove.com
July is Disability Pride Month! Disability justice has become really important to me in recent years. I encourage everyone to learn more about it and to challenge ableism in our personal lives and in the systems around us.| gregorlove.com
The other day I watched a moving video of a woman recounting some verbal harassment and stalking she recently experienced in a store from another customer, simply because she was wearing a mask. She was understandably emotional about it because she masks to protect a family member who has cancer. Thankfully it ended well enough; the store took it seriously and removed the harasser.| gregorlove.com
I re-watched Tomorrowland for the IndieWeb Movie Club May selection chosen by Tantek. I think I initially watched it around 2016, also on his recommendation. I recalled it being visually captivating and OK overall, but unfortunately the story did not stick with me so I didn’t remember much of it going into this re-watch.| gregorlove.com
I’ve been working on re-writing my rather old (2011!) bio on the about page. In one of the drafts, I mentioned that there was a chapter of my life when I promoted concerts and I basically got into it by accident. I continued, “I should blog about that at some point,” which is also a phrase I recently said to Al and Joe. I’m still having a hard time with the bio, but I can at least do the thing I said in that draft instead of keeping it in the backlog.| gregorlove.com
I have noticed an increase in groups using CryptPad for collaborative documents for reasons of more privacy and less dependence on/support of Google. These are great goals and I’m all for using it. It is possible to use tools like CryptPad in ways that don’t really enhance privacy, though, so I wanted to write up some suggestions.| gregorlove.com
What a long year January 2025 was.| gregorlove.com
Ava started a Bear Blog question challenge this month and Kev adapted them to be a bit more generic. Several indieweb pals have posted their responses. I miss these kind of meta posts, so here are my responses:| gregorlove.com
In late 2023, I gave myself a very loose challenge to listen to one distinct album each day(-ish). I wrote a post about the first week and after that I tried to keep track of them offline in Obsidian. I didn’t do it every day or always keep track of it very well, but that’s alright.| gregorlove.com
A bit of meta blogging up front (everyone’s favorite!): I’ve called these posts “Roundup” before, whether they were weekly, monthly, or some longer period of time. I think I am fine with the inconsistent timing of them, but I would like to use some name for them that is consistent so I don’t get bogged down thinking about it. Maybe it could be “A Roundup for [date]” or maybe I should just be more chill about it like Joe: “Misc Notes And Recent Updates.”| gregorlove.com
