Image: GMMTVThis week’s episode was kind of all over the place, and some things happened much earlier than I expected. Also, at least one of my theories was confirmed, and another was shot to dust. Not to mention, this show continues to not take itself seriously at all, which I personally am a big fan of.| The Geekiary
Am I clowning myself again? Maybe. Just about six weeks ago, the Thai BL fandom blew up because Yin Anan and War Wanarat released a teaser image for their upcoming project. Just as everyone was getting excited about a new series, they announced that it was for their next concert. We are all in a similar tizzy today, but this time I’m actually positive it’s really a new series. For real this time.| The Geekiary
Image: YWPB Records/iQIYIHello, I’m back with another Thai BL recommendation. Are you surprised? I’m sure you are. Anyway, today I’m here to tell you that you need to watch Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart immediately. Or, maybe not immediately, but soon. I could probably be more eloquent in this very important introductory paragraph, but I’m still in a semi-food coma, so it’s hard for me to be coherent at the moment.| The Geekiary
They should change the name of this show from Wandee Goodday to Wandee Not Having a Goodday after this week’s episode. It ripped my heart out of my chest and then kicked it for good measure. And though the ending made me giggle and kick my feet, can we really trust what we’ve seen? This show is from the same people that gave us The Eclipse, after all.| The Geekiary
How very Hunger Games. Image: Domundi/MandeeIn an action-packed episode, the three heirs enter the woods for the archery competition, Thatdanai makes his presence known, and we finally learn the Big Bad behind it all.| The Geekiary
I have got to learn to stop putting so much stock in episode previews. I should know by now that they can often be intentionally misleading. Case in point, a few of the things that I was based on the promo for Only Friends Episode 4 ended up happening in a completely different context. Also, I’m continually waffling back and forth as to what I think about certain characters and situations. This show is doing a really good job of not making things predictable.| The Geekiary
Image: CrunchyrollOne bright spot in this dumpster fire of a year is that Given The Movie hit Japanese theaters. For those of us who have been waiting what seems like years for any information on the Yuri on Ice movie, a promised movie actually getting finished and into theaters is a dream come true. And we here at The Geekiary are big fans of Given and have been eagerly awaiting news about when those of us in the US will be able to see the film.| The Geekiary

I’m a little late to the party on this, although I did learn of it a month ago when it first opened. But work and other obligations kept me from being able to make the trek out to Flushing to visit the Heaven Official’s Blessing themed café. Until this weekend!| The Geekiary
Oh no, I love them.Oof, did everybody buckle their seatbelt? Good, because you’re about to get whiplash. This week’s episode of Wandee Goodday is all over the map emotionally- but, like, in a good way.| The Geekiary
Image: GMMTVAs we move further into the second arc, it looks like things are starting to be a little more balanced. Arc and Arm had less screen time while still maintaining a presence. We got a glimpse of Pond and Sand. And the plot is plotting when it comes to Yotha and Gun.| The Geekiary
OK, I think I have to reassess some of the assumptions I made earlier in this series. Wandee Goodday, while not tossing any out of left field plot twists into the narrative, is still managing to not be quite what I expected. I’m starting to wonder if anyone knows anything on this show. (Other than Plakao, who seems to know everything.)| The Geekiary
Image: GMMTVWhile we didn’t get quite the Shakespearean ending I was hoping for (there were a disappointing zero weddings), The Heart Killers still gave a satisfying conclusion for both couples. It also wrapped up something that may have seemed a little too neatly done in last week’s episode.| The Geekiary
Day and Night meet again in the hospital elevator. Image: GMMTVIt’s only the third episode of Leap Day and already my theories are going up in smoke. Maybe I’m overthinking things, or trying to make them more complicated than they are. That doesn’t mean I’m any less invested in this story; in fact, I’m even more excited to see what happens.| The Geekiary
The penultimate episode of Cooking Crush has arrived. “Or… The Three Must-Eat-eers Will Only Be a Name” tosses a little chaos into the mix, with Ten and Prem dealing with the fallout of last week’s confrontation with Chang Ma. Remember, kids: violence is never the answer (except when it is).| The Geekiary
Things are moving right along for our culinary and med students in “Fried Pork Toast That Makes You Smile” as both relationships develop at a speed that is only mildly alarming and Prem finally agrees to teach Ten how to cook.| The Geekiary
Image: GMMTVSound off, everyone. Are we all OK after that episode? No judgment if the answer is “no”. After all, there was a lot going on! To think we got whips, nipple clamps, Fadel’s sexy dance, that thing with the belt, sad backstory, and Style in a burger costume all in one episode!| The Geekiary
It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here! Happy The Heart Killers Day to all who celebrate. Strap in for this series. It looks like it’s going to be a wild ride.| The Geekiary
Image: GMMTVYotha becomes a little less mysterious in this week’s episode, but maybe he should have left a little bit of mystery. (Seriously, someone please get that boy in therapy.) Meanwhile, Gun is trying to steal Arm’s title of “Most Oblivious” because he is not picking up on anyone‘s signals, no matter how obvious they are.| The Geekiary

The fur (and the water) is really starting to fly in episode 7 of Only Friends. With Boston and Top’s behavior exposed to the greater group after last week’s dramatic reveal, relationships are starting to fracture and reform in different ways.| The Geekiary

We’re here, everyone. We’ve arrived. It’s the final episode of Cooking Crush, and I have no idea what I’m supposed to do with my Sundays anymore. Did I even exist before I had a weekly dose of OffGun being ridiculously adorable? While “Fish & Rice Romance: A Dish Made of Love” didn’t give me everything I wanted out of a finale, it did fill me with warmth and gooey feelings, and honestly, that’s all I could really ask for.| The Geekiary
Image: GMMTVMerry Christmas (to those who celebrate)! Looks like Santa left some heartbreak under your tree. And some emotional damage in your stocking. Yay.| The Geekiary
With “Internship Diary”, The Trainee comes to an end. This final episode was quiet and understated, much like the rest of the series, focusing on the growth of the characters rather than anything flashy or dramatic. (Well…) Even though it featured a time skip, which I usually hate, I felt like it made sense in the context of this series. It was important to show us how the future turned out for these characters.| The Geekiary
“The Grown-Up Battlefield” continues to field test our intrepid interns as they are brought on location to shoot the ad they’ve been working on the past couple of days. The Trainee is really delivering on a realistic workplace series that I feel like everyone can relate to, even if you don’t work in production.| The Geekiary
Image: GMMTVWow, we are literally two episodes into Faifa and Wine’s story and already these two seem to be gone for each other. Appearances can be deceiving, though. After all, we have six more episodes to bring the heartbreak. And given what we know of Faifa, I suspect it will be a doozy.| The Geekiary
Day is starting to adjust to his circumstances in this week’s episode of Last Twilight. But he still has a long way to go before he accepts things as they are.| The Geekiary

The first image from YinWar’s new series. (We think.) Image: YWPB OfficialRiding high on the popularity of their most recent series, Jack & Joker (and perhaps feasting on the tears of their fandom after that special episode), Yin Anan and War Wanarat have dropped what we hope is a new photo from their upcoming show with the caption: “WE COMING.” Well, on behalf of fans, WE WAITING.| The Geekiary
Oh, no, they’re idiots, your honor. If you ever wanted to know how someone could be so smart but also so stupid, please watch this episode of Wandee Goodday. It’s a perfect example of two guys who are in complete denial of the fact that they are obviously dating.| The Geekiary
Since I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of Thai BLs, I’ve found myself more immersed in that fandom. I even follow GMMTV on Twitter AND Instagram, which is just ridiculous, but it allows me to keep abreast of upcoming shows. I kind of like watching along with the rest of the audience, rather than discovering a show two years late and then scrambling to catch up.| The Geekiary

A meeting of the minds. Image: GMMTVThere are a few things I want to look at from this episode: Ozone’s dreams and drawings, Professor Wiwat, and the creepy dude. There’s definitely more to these than we’re being told, but to what extent? How much should we look into the drawings, or the dreams? How involved is Wiwat? What is the creepy dude after?| The Geekiary
Image: GMMTVThe first episode of Leap Day dropped today. And as I predicted in my GMMTV 2024 round-up post, this is absolutely a show that I’m going to have to watch through my fingers. Already we’re starting out tense and suspenseful, waiting for the terrible things that we know are going to happen.| The Geekiary
I love me some Wandee Goodday, y’all know that. But this week’s episode felt overstuffed with plot, as though when they were writing the scripts they realized this was episode 10 and there was still a lot of stuff left unresolved. There are absolutely aspects of this episode that I enjoyed, but I feel like it would have better served the narrative as a whole to have spread these out over the past few episodes.| The Geekiary

Image: screengrab (YWPB Records)It’s been a little less than two weeks since the final episode of Jack & Joker aired (and only just about a week since I told you all that you should watch it). And today we got the fantastic news that the cast is coming back for a special episode!| The Geekiary
Image: screengrabI’ve been eagerly awaiting the special episode of Jack & Joker since it was announced back at YinWar’s fanmeet in December. Jack & Joker was one of my favorite shows from last year, and special episodes are always a fun time. But after the premiere event last weekend, spoilers hit the internet, and they did not sound fun. Everyone who hadn’t been able to attend the screening had to wait for the episode to drop on streaming and find out what was true and what wasn’t.| The Geekiary
Eve and Gozu walking through the forest in ‘Demon Sama Killing Plan’ (Screengrab: Everything for Demon King Evelogia anime season 1 episode 2)The second episode of the Everything For Demon King Evelogia anime, ‘Demon King Sama Killing Plan’, shared details about Eve’s childhood. I kind of don’t fault Eve for becoming the final villain in the video game’s story.| The Geekiary
We here at the Geekiary have been quite rattled by the results of the US Presidential Election. We are, and always have been, a space that enthusiastically highlights content by, for, and about marginalized groups. Most of us are part of one or more of these groups and have very real fears about what the Trump presidency could bring for us and others who may get crushed under their policies.| The Geekiary
So I thought I knew what to expect from The Trainee after last week’s episode, but “Important Role” pleasantly surprised me. The complexity of the characters is really quite fascinating, and I’m loving that we get to see the different dynamics at play.| The Geekiary
All the way back in April, I did a trailer rundown of the second half of GMMTV’s 2024 lineup. The show I was most excited for was The Heart Killers. Starring FirstKhao and JoongDunk and directed by Jojo Tichakorn (Only Friends), the story is based on Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, but more specifically, the 1999 adaptation Ten Things I Hate About You. Only it’s gay. And they’re assassins. Anyway, the official trailer dropped today and, y’all… My body was not ready.| The Geekiary

Well, isn’t this awkward?Even after last week’s premiere had me so excited, with the introduction of one of BL’s first asexual characters, I still didn’t think I’d have all that much to say about Wandee Goodday. Yes, it looks like a fun show that I’m going to enjoy, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I have enough to talk about every week. But you know what? I don’t care.| The Geekiary
This episode may well have been called “The Apology Tour” rather than “The Chosen One”, because so many characters make apologies for various reasons. Pah in particular spends a lot of his time this episode apologizing. This goes a long way toward growth and character development, and continues to put The Trainee head and shoulders above other series when it comes to communication.| The Geekiary

Image: GMMTV TwitterHello, again. Yes, it’s me, once again focusing on Thai dramas because that’s my current jam. Earlier today, GMMTV held the second half of its 2024 upfront presentation (the first half was held back in October). It showcased series that are expected to air in the later months of 2024 and early 2025. I’m sure you are all anxious to hear what I think, so let’s get to it.| The Geekiary
Look at me, strolling into fandoms two years late with Starbucks that I don’t drink. Once again inspired by my Tumblr dashboard, I finally decided to check out A Tale of Thousand Stars, a 2021 Thai BL drama that I’ve been meaning to watch but was sort of waiting until it was up on something other than YouTube. (Watching YouTube on my TV is not my favorite – those ads are annoyingly placed.) Listen, do you want something with so much yearning that you think you may die from it? Do you w...| The Geekiary

It takes a lot for me to recommend a show. I watch a lot of series that I’ve enjoyed, but I don’t necessarily want to recommend them for whatever reason. But Marry My Husband has me shooketh. I binged this over a matter of days, staying up until almost 3 am one night just because I didn’t want to stop and go to sleep. Alice and Eliot in ‘The Seam/No Better to Be Safe Than Sorry’ (Image: Screengrab)The Magicians season 4 has aired its finale, and it wasn’t received well by some fans. ‘The Seam’ had a certain character make an important decision.
