We are excited to announce this year’s NeurIPS Affinity Events! What are affinity groups? At NeurIPS, affinity groups play a crucial role in promoting and supporting the ideas and voices of various communities that are defined by some axis of joint identity and raise awareness of issues that affect their members. In addition, they provide […]| NeurIPS Blog
As we announce decisions for the first-ever NeurIPS Position Paper Track, we find ourselves reflecting on an extraordinary experimental year. When NeurIPS launched this pilot track, we ventured into uncharted territory. The community response was overwhelming and inspiring. Every submission represented not just research, but a vision for how position papers could contribute to broader […]| NeurIPS Blog
NeurIPS has grown at an unprecedented pace in recent years, fundamentally reshaping how the conference operates. To provide transparency and share insights into how NeurIPS continues to refine its processes, we—the Program Committee (PC) Chair Team—are publishing this blog post on our experience managing the review process at scale, with support from the Communication Chairs. The Datasets and Benchmarks (DB) track, since introduced in 2021, has played a pivotal role in raising the profile of datasets and benchmarks, which is foundational to machine learning, in the NeurIPS community. As this track continues to grow and refine its processes from year to year, we, the DB Chairs, decided to write this blog post to make our process this year transparent. This blog post focuses specifically on the DB track, but the Program Committee chairs have also written a blog post...| NeurIPS Blog

We are excited to be running a Position Paper Track for the first time in NeurIPS history. This track gives our community an important forum for raising and discussing essential topics in machine learning within and around our community of experts. This also means that the Position Paper Track operates a little differently from the […]| NeurIPS Blog

Today, we introduce the competitions that have been accepted at NeurIPS 2024 Competition Track. It seemed especially challenging this year given the number of quality submissions and the limited number that could be accepted compared to last year. We selected a total of 16 very strong proposals, covering a wide range of areas and subdisciplines. Some of the competitions are completely new, others are familiar to the NeurIPS community. | NeurIPS Blog
We are excited to announce a study to understand if Large Language Models (LLMs) can serve as an assistant to help authors verify their submission against the NeurIPS Paper Checklist. This study is a first step towards understanding if LLMs can be used to enhance the quality of submissions at NeurIPS. We invite authors intending to submit a paper to NeurIPS to participate in this study by pre-registering through our online form, before the abstract submission deadline. Participants will gai...| NeurIPS Blog
