[the game] was as responsive as they’d like. We put a lot of effort into a lot different subsystems to really bring that feeling of responsiveness into the game, and it shows. We have been showing the build during development in these past 4 months on different communities, and they were telling us that responsiveness is great. [Even though] I don’t have the responsibility, but people on our team did have responsibilities. In fact, one of our guys, his wife became pregnant just as we began working on the game. So it’s like, they had a bun in the oven and it was like we were racing to trying and get the game finished before we run out of money so he could feed his kid. [eventually] I was getting more and more design stuff. For example I designed the loot system for Dead Island, I was responsible for balancing the game, creating player progression systems, kills, enemy types, stuff like that. In the end, I realized I actually liked more of the design stuff than the production. I asked if I could go full time design, and they were like “yeah, sure.
