As National Suicide Prevention Month comes to a close, it’s important to recognize that the issue of youth suicide doesn’t go away when September ends. Nationally, the suicide rate among persons aged 10 to 24 increased 57.4%, from 6.8 per 100,000 in 2007 to 10.7 in 2018. Just under 7,000 people ages 10 to 24 died by suicide in 2018.
