In May 2025, after the terrorist attack in Kashmir on 22nd April 2025, political tension between India and Pakistan escalated into a 4-day conflict. Amid the conflict, both governments started blocking multiple news media outlets to fight ‘disinformation campaigns’ and ‘hate speech’ on the internet. This report is published in collaboration with DRF (Digital Rights Foundation) and shares OONI data on blocks that emerged in both India and Pakistan amid the armed conflict in May 2025.
