There is an (apocryphal?) story about Gustav III ordering a twin study of the effects of tea and coffee, making twins drink three pots of each every day. The Swedish coffee museum seems to regard it as genuine. Regardless - if the experiment were real, how much coffee would "3 pots" have been? I'm curious both about the volume of water and the amount of beans that would have been used in this time and place. If anyone has access to primary Swedish sources and recipes, so much the better.
