I hope you all have a lot of Finishes (or not) to show me, because - I totally Did NOT Finish a thing!! What happened to this week? Where did it go? I had intentions.....I had this top topped - but it needs borders - and so I was going to audition borders, attach them and!!! Quilt it... We had a horse event up in the mountains of Estes Park - It was a two day event, so!! we decided to try something new for us. I pulled the horses and the girls - K pulled the camper and off we went.You start at 5000 feet and go up to 8000 + feet - so its quite a climb with two horses in the back, and all the winding roads - I couldn't go faster than 40mph, and truthfully, didn't want to. Remember those two D4P's I got topped? I had the chance to get one quilted!!!Whoot Whoot!!!It was VERY HOT outside - so we only ventured out under the shade of the back patio.... In June I went down a Rabbit Hole and followed the link to a Jelly Roll 18 Pattern... it was awesome, and then!! I wanted stars - so I looked at my Own Happy Half Square Blocks page and I made a Quilt.And then!! I started dreaming it in Patriotic Fabrics... and then!! A little while back a few bloggers issued a Color Palette Challenge QAL and I joined in. It was a lot of fun to create a quilt with a palette of colors - even if you weren't sure where you were going.I had the inner part of this top done and I thought it lacked a little pizazz - so another blogger suggested an Orange border... and you know what? Or at least That's what I think the block is!!My guild made these blocks for our Quilts of Valor group, and two months ago some of the ladies started rowing them..and this month - I took the rows and topped them!and then Bella Modeled them for you - and look Mom!!! My husband is an avid gardener - and this year he might have gone a little overboard. He is enjoying his endless summer, but wow!! I knew Zucchini grew a lot.... but a lot of zucchini plants - is overload haha!We are eating some kind of zucchini every day - we made fries , we made these strips , i have made lasagnas I coated them in cheese - oh!! I think it is aquamarine - but I am choosing Teal or maybe some is Aqua - anyway.. I am in the same color family.... its just what I have!I pulled a Pile of 3 1/2 inch strip scraps. Friday came WAY to fast this week!! I made lists, I had plans... I did not finish... I did not even get to the "or not" phase... ah well!!I did get these blocks done for my Quilt Guild Bee... We had a chance to visit one of my favorite groups of Veterans and have a little breakfast... we might have wrapped a few in Quilts of Valor as well.The three gentlemen sitting are Korean War Veterans, one also served in Vietnam .Sometimes its hard to get a good photo for us, everyone of these Vets family and friends were taking photos. I am DONE!! making blocks for my Jelly Roll 18 - aka *the Rabbit Hole*I have them all laid out the way I want them - and they are now ready to row!!!now it is 6 x 8 - and the are 12 inch blocks - so should be 72 x 96 ish ( I am not a perfect 1/4 inch stitcher sometimes) but I liked the idea of a bigger quilt...Hope you all have recovered from your 4th of July Weekend - and were able to| Alycia Quilts - Quiltygirl
