In light of recent events in Washington State and around the Puget Sound region (and beyond), SPSSEG will be postponing our annual meeting that was set for Thursday March 26 in Lacey. Please be on the lookout for a make-up date later on this year. And not to worry, David Montgomery will still be the guest speaker once its rescheduled. We will send out a SalmonGram newsletter soon that highlights some of our recent work accomplishments.| South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group
My very first day of work at SPSSEG was Docent training day out at Kennedy Creek Salmon Trail. Vast areas of tidal wetland have faced extreme alteration in Puget Sound, especially at the head of estuaries. Intertidal forested marsh habitats have been impacted by historic logging practices, development and invasive plant species. These impacts disrupt food-web interactions, reduced stream shading and removed large wood from estuaries.| South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group
